&lt;p&gt;Verdict: bad solder, it&amp;nbsp;took a magnifying glass to see it!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Yes, it&amp;#39;s normal for a Beogram 6006, 8000 and 8002 to hum a bit during acceleration and braking of the platter.&lt;br /&gt;At start, stop and when changing speed from 33 to 45 or back.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Now the deck works again... Not even unplugged the thing. Bad solder then?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The platter rotates easily... and goes on for ages! All caps changed, including the one inside the processor block and the one underneath.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Is the humming sound on startup (and when it brakes to a stop) normal anyway?&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;My beautiful 6006 (aka 8000) stopped right in the middle of an LP, and the motor suddenly hummed very badly. Now it won&amp;#39;t start again, it just hums. Everything else works.
