< will not forward the carriage much > on the other hand works. Also playing is possible at times but most of the time during playback the carriage does not forward, it will get stucked. I figure that fastforward < is more likely to fail than play, (same direction) cleaning doesnt seem to help (rails, cleaned, wheel cleaned, rifled bolt cleaned, etc. )What could be the fault?

Re: Beogram 3000 (tangential) tonearm carriage stuck!

Hey, another post :)

Does < make the carriage move at all, or just slowly?

Can you still play records?

Beogram 3000 (tangential) tonearm carriage stuck!

Hello all!

Previously I had the problem with the weighing mechanism, through cleaning the inside of the Beogram seems to have cured that problem. But now I face a more severe problem, the carriage itself that is controlling the tonearm is almost stuck in play mode! It will not forward during play and also pressing < is not moving the carriage freely to the left.Funny enough > is working better making reversing the carriage possible.I found out that there is a second motor that is moving the carriage during play and fast forward and there is a feltpad in kind of a "gearbox" that is taking care of movement in both directions.Maybe this has to be taken apart to solve the problem? The rails are covered with fresh grease (lithium) and the fast movement of the carriage that is being handled by the platter mechanism is working flawlessly.
