&lt;p&gt;Thanks, you just might have saved me some grief. Someone who should know better who fixes Beograms here in the states has said they have a platter but the photo they have shown me looks like it is on a 4000 or 4002 as I mentioned. It looked just like the platter on the 8000. Is it a question of the diameter or thickness of the platter that is the problem?&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;A platter from a Beogram 6006 will be the only alternative since it&amp;#39;s basically the same deck as the 8000.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I am looking for a replacement for a Beogram 8000 platter that I managed to mess up cosmetically, and someone has a platter from a 4000 or 4002 that from the image looks very similar to the 8000. Can anyone tell me if they are basically the same?&lt;/p&gt;
