&lt;p&gt;The sensor and lamp in the arm parallel to the tonearm is not for tracking but&amp;nbsp;for record sensing.&lt;br /&gt;The tracking lamp and sensor sits at the foot of the carriage in a housing shielded from ambient light.&lt;br /&gt;The tonearm should be parallel to the sensor arm when the tonearm is lifted. If they are not parallel, you&lt;br /&gt;will have to find out why.&lt;/p&gt;
