Ive had an RX TT for a few years and bought a SMMC2 cartridge recently, then started having trouble with the RX. I took a gamble and bought an RX2 without a cartridge fairly cheap. I hooked it up earlier and it sounded sweet till I got to a quiet passage and heard a rubbing sound. ( The LPs outer edge is rubbing against the plinth.) Ive examined best I could, and not being a jewler I propped up the platter with a few carefully placed pieces of cardboard temporarily and tried it again. That was a great temporary fix, but if anyone has experience with this problem and knows whats involved in solving it Id appreciate some feedback.

     Thanks, John
