I guess the problem is the cable. Have a look at www.Beotech.co.uk - part of this site - for the pin outs of the DIN - Steve at Sounds heavenly can sort out a proper cable for you - his ad is at the bottom of the page.

Re: Help with Beogram 1500 silver top later edition

I got a 4 phono connection lead but still no success. How many Phono connections does you lead have. If it has only two it may be a Phono to DIN lead. Where you require one that is DIN to Phono. Try to get one with 4 Phono connections, as these work both ways. As for the humming noise, this is caused by an earthing fault. Easily solved by running a piece of wire from the chassis of the Beogram, to an earth point on you Amp. Some Amps will have an earthing screw on the rear.

I have bought a beogram 1500 which appears to be working, going round, needle ok on record but I am having real difficulty connecting it to my amp or hi-fi which both work with my other record player.

I have tried several connections between the 5din pin beogram cable and the phono inputs on my amp/hi fi but still no sound apart from a loud buzzing. Tried putting the turntable through a mixer and it appears the signal is not being recieved- Ive seen on forums there are some potential compatability issues between B&O equiptment and non B&O amps.

Is there any way to resolve this?

Thanks,
