Yes I know, but this is a very neat example in Rosewood, with a very lightly used MMC 20E and is more acceptable domestically at the moment.

I am working on a long term strategy to infect my partner with the Beovirus, but so far she is completely immune. I have taken to leaving glossy photographs of a Rosewood BM 4400 lying around!

Thanks everyone - the cotton wool/jewellery box idea is obvious now I think about it, but, of course, I didn't think about it!

This is my second piece of vintage B&O - now to rediscover the joys of vinyl - I have 5 records!

Quite surprised at the number of specialist dealers around the world too. Just bought two DGG Archiv records from Jerusualem!

Now suffering completely from the most virulent strain of the Beovirus! I believe there is no known cure.

As it is a MMC20 type cartridge, I would remove it. If it has no guard, small box with cotton wool will keep it safe. For the deck, lift off the top platter and tape this to the bottom of the deck - if they get loose, they smash everything in their way! Do the transit screws up and then put a piece of foam rubber under the arm and tape the arm down so it cannot move. Wrap the Beogram in a duvet or something similar and remember you are not Ayrton Senna and things should be fine!!

Agree 100% with Karl, remove the stylus. Try and find one of the small boxes that rings come in. They are ideal for this. Getting to the transit screws should be very simple. Just lift off the platter and you should see them.

im not sure about the rest, but i would take the stylus out and keep it in a safe place while in transit.

Help,

I am about to buy a BG 1700, but it doesn't have the original box. Not sure the best way to transport it by car.

Are there any particular problems removing the platter and accessing the transit screws?

How do I protect the arm in transit?

Not sure if there is a stylus guard so any advice on protecting the stylus?

Boot or back seat?

I've checked the user manual on this site, but being really thick I want to make absolutely sure i don't do anything stupid - iThe BG looks to be in very good nick.
