I have just bought an old Beogram 8000 with a nice MMC20CL pickup for the amount of Danish money that is equal to 40 pounds . I have just sent my BG 4002 to repair because of a speed probem. I hooked the 8000 up with a "Tape 1" cable with datalink from my dad's beocord 8004, this is of course inducing some hum, but i get a "cykling" hum when the pickup is on a record. It is like it is humming when it has spinned one turn. The Datalink is not responding on the BG, but the "beep" signal is reaching to the speakers, as if the datalink signal is being amplified. I know that double screened cable is required for proper sound, but this thing is humming rather loud, like it is not being grounded at all. Is there anything I can do for bringing this old beauty back to life? It is only temporary, as my BG 4002 is sent to repair (at a former B&O Tech), and is taking some time, as he no longer is doing it for a living....
