&lt;p&gt;Try activating the stop button several times, 40-50 or more. You may even add more than a fair amount of fingerpressure. I&amp;#39;m sure that it will make it work again.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The pause button should just lift the tonearm and stop the platter, that&amp;#39;s OK. Pressing play will then resume playing (though you would need to press 45 if playing a 45rpm record).&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I have recently got a 2402 which has some eratic problems. Basically, when you have an lp, or 45, on the platter and press &amp;#39;start&amp;#39; all is OK, pressing &amp;#39;stop&amp;#39; does nothing and pressing &amp;#39;pause&amp;#39; results in the arm raising but then the player switches off after a few seconds. This player was not used for many years and I have lubed&amp;nbsp;everything I could find but I fear a cap or&amp;nbsp;ic may have gone. Any suggestions?&lt;/p&gt;
