To bring the output of a cartridge up to the same level as a CD player, a device called a RIAA is required. This amplifies an equalises the signal. Most record players simply output the cartridge output and expect the RIAA to be fitted in the amplifier. The 7000 has one fitted in the Beogram so will need to be attached to the same type of input as a CD player or Tape player. This is what makes it so desirable as it works with all the modern B&O equipment.

Re: Beogram 7000

Fantastic! The cable is a 7 pin DIN cable that plugs into a Beomaster (B&O speak for a tuner amplifier). The output from the Beogram 7000 is actually at line level so will plug into any line in socket. It would be possible with the correct adapter cable to run this to a sound card of a computer as long as it accepts line analogue signal. If you have any sort of a music system, a 5 pin DIN socket to 2 RCA plug adapter will allow you to use it. Also would make it more saleable!

Beogram 7000

Hello,

I have been left a Beogram 7000 turntable with an MMC2 arm. It is in great condition and even has the little dust brush still attached. It spins a record and both the 45 and 33 light shows up when I press the buttons. The problem is on its own the turntable does not make any noise. Clearly I know nothing about this item at all and I was wondering if someone might be able to give me an idea how I can go about testing it i.e. what do I plug the attached computer cable into. This machine needs a good home and unless I can figure out what condition its in I can't really advertise it for sale. Any suggestion would be much appreciated. Thank you
