Check that the suspension is not locked down and preventing the platter from turning. Thing is, it doesnt work, at all. Appearently my uncle bought it in the mid 80`s, it ran flawlessy for two years, then suddenly died with no prior warnings or troubles. He thusly bought a new identical one and stored this player in a shelf until now. So I`m wondering if this could be cheapishly fixed? Could it just be some faulty capacitors, or maybe a bad motor?

When I plug it in and put a record on, nothing happnens. The only fuse I could see when I opened it up appeared fine. The drive belt was ok.

Any help would be appreciated.
