Records in other colors than black may play on one Beogram and not on another, I feel it's not related to the type but may reflect the setting of the sensor adjustments. I have a record that my daily Beogram 6006 will play one day but not the next. I wouldn't expect any vinyl color to be sensed without a little help.

I use the little brush originally supplied with the Beogram to hold under the sensor to block the light when playing clear vinyls. When first started, it will play fine.

The repeat function is one of the 8000/8002 differences. All 8000's will repeat but only once. When repeat is activated on a Beogram 6006/8000, it shows it by flashing the red LED at the end of the sensor arm. The 8002 will flash the repeat count, which can be up to 9, I think, in the display alternating with the speed setting. The Beogram 6006 is practically a Beogram 8000 only with black keys and white lettering to match the Beomaster 6000.

I've only had one blue transparent vinyl record by Danish band Gasolin. The Bg8002 played it fine.

I got Down to earth by Rainbow on clear transparent vinyl and again the BG8002 plays it fine.

I think some caps need to be changed in the BG8002.

This weekend I came across an interesting thing: playing an old Miles Davis album on transparent blue vinyl, on the un-modified 8002, it wouldn't cue but went thru the scan/return cycle like it was "looking" thru the vinyl at the TT, and shut off every time.

Using the 8002 that is using the 8000 processor "can" and 8000 CPU, it played every time!

I've also noticed that the 8002/8000 hybrid glows the sensor arm left arrows every time the arm servo turns while the original 8002 doesn't. Also, if I pause the hybrid, after waiting a while, it parks the arm and shuts down, but if I hit the pause button again, it resumes play where it had been. The 8002 just stays paused until I push another button. And the 8002 will replay multiple times if the play button is pressed after starting play (up to 9X?) The hybrid won't repeat at all (don't 8000s repeat once?) Phil
