Once adjusted the up/down function is back and the 4002 is again playing records.

Unfortunately, after a single play the tonearm appears to be pushing too hard (or too fast) to the left and first bends the stylus to the right until the stylus is dragged over several grooves. This tonearm adjustment certainly gets out of adjustment FAST!

At least we know it is not a serious problem, but I don’t know that I want to try another adjustment today.

Thanks for all your help!

Jeff

Re: Third NEW issue with Beogram 4002

Hi Jeff,

My BG6000 is also an ex-Canadian unit, which apparently had many unauthorized fingers fiddle with it over the years. Slowly, I've been taking care of all the previous sloppy workmanship, as problems came to light.

My latest problem has similar symptoms to yours, which I've traced down to the PhotoResistor circuit.

See this post:

http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/thread/120432.aspx

Regards

Menahem Yachad

Re: Third NEW issue with Beogram 4002

Come on guys, have you forgotten me? Yet another small adjustment, and all was fine.

Now a new issue. The tone arm drops but “lands” too far into play. The 4002 plays all right, but if fast-forward is selected and the “down” control is pressed, the arm does not drop only moves quickly to the left. No amount of coaching can get the arm to drop other than in the beginning of play.

So now what do I do?

Jeff
