But before the installation begins there is a check if all conditions are fulfilled. In compatibility mode the operating system is accepted but it hangs in the check of the serial ports. It says that a special file is missing. I don&amp;#39;t know now the exact file name. It is a VXD file. But the file is available in the installation directory. I had no success to get over this barrier.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;both my units are USB, Your&amp;#39;s must be an early unit, the only thing I can think of to try would be to connect it to your PC using a serial (rs232) to USB adapter and just hope it works.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It may not work but at least the adapter only costs a few pounds / Euros&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Struer&amp;nbsp;told me, that it can&amp;#39;t work under XP.&lt;/p&gt;
