The Front Row script is what I am keen to see as that is what I would learn most from, I think.

If you have time, you might be able to answer one further question - why will the Front Row support only work if you use an eye connected directly to the BeoPort whereas the N.MUSIC and N.RADIO support will work through any IR sensor?

Sorry to keep asking questions, it's just that I find the whole thing so ingenious and am keen to understand it better.

Regards and thanks

/A

PS - if all is well usisng BM-Link v1.5, is there any reason why I should upgrade to 1.5.2?

/A

Re: Accessing BM-Link scripts, and use of new version (1.5.2)

The Script Controlling Front Row is available in source code format, inside the application bundle, which in turn is inside the Preference Pane Bundle

The N.MUSIC and N.RADIO scripts are only available in binary format, so unless you somehow manage to decompile those you are out of luck.

/Anders

Accessing BM-Link scripts, and use of new version (1.5.2)

Hi everyone.

I am currently running Leopard and BM-Link 1.5 (firmware 1.30) on an iMac, everything works fine for me (though I have stuck to iTunes version 7.6 because i've read that there are issues if you go to 7.6.2), except that I can't control Front Row directly from my Beo4 because none of my IR eyes are connected directly to the BeoPort (I guess I can solve this by buying an extra one for my 'mac room' and configuring for just Link commands but I haven't got round to doing that).

However, I have two questions on which somebody may be able to help me:

1. I notice that Anders now has a new version of BM-Link available (1.5.2, firmware 1.31). Does anyone know what this actually does - I'd like to be fully up to date, but on the other hand my setup seems to work perfectly on 1.5 and there isn't any information in the change log that really gives much detail and if it ain't broke.....

2. Is there any way of examining the 'delivered' BM-Link source code / AppleScripts to see how they work? I am intrigued by how the Front Row support works in particular because Front Row isn't really AppleScript-enabled as far as I can see as a bit of an occasional scripter. I would like to code up my own scripts to do a bit more but I am a relative novice and it would be great to see more of how the current application works.

I apologise for these being rather basic questions.

Thanks for any help

/A

PS Anders if you are reading this then thanks for a brilliant application, I have gotten such a lot out of using it, I am just an old programmer who is keen to learn more about it.

/A
