A mint one owner Beogram 4000 went for just over £400 recently. Box and all but I think this guy has a good rep?

Nope, the very first electronically-controlled linear arm was Pierre Clément's A1 deck.

He finalized his design in 1968 in Paris, see the picture here and there (in French but with photos of the innards). Here's the 1968 patent!

It was not fully automatic but used the optoelectronic sensor... a few years before B&O who refined it to perfection!

I would suggest making the effort and picking it up if buying it. These Beograms really don't like travelling by post. Having said that, I imagine this seller will be expert at packing.

If you want one and you want a good one the this is the one. The seller has an excellent reputation and gives a warranty.

Like all antiques, if you want the best, you have limited options. Either pay or be very lucky.

As stated previously, they don't make 'em any more!

Perhaps a bit pricey, but I recently paid $750.00USD for a near identical condition 4000 -though mine is not quite as nice!

They are thee B&o table (IMHO) and you don't see them *that* often. They aren't going to make any more!

I believe the seller is a member here???

Expensive but fully working and in good condition. Has a warranty.

Copy not so accurate! The Beogram was not the first linear tracking turntable.
