Right on Chris - the goodness comes back around.

I have a couple of customers who are collectors, and they prowl the fleamarkets here for B&O stuff.

They call me when they see something interesting to get my opinion if it's worth buying. Sometimes I say yes, and sometimes no.

This past week, one of my good customers picked up a fully-functioning (I state that with reservations) BM2400-2, cosmetically 9.5/10, for about GBP17.

I also win with that, because it's already on my lab shelf waiting for a full restoration.

So the trust that customers have, will always be transformed into future business.

I know what you mean, Chris (well It's a bit confusing with two Chris's). My intention was not to correct anybody -just my point of view on buying/selling.

Fair play, Chris. But i am a bit ambivalent about this. Nowadays everybody can search the net and find the price level of whatever they're gonna sell. I always go for the best price (when I buy -and when I sell)

I live in Denmark - the best place to buy B&O for a fair price. If I can get it cheap (and it's ok) -i'll buy it. A few weeks ago, I bought a full functioning BeoMaster 1900-2, in mint condition, for 200 danish kr. (approx. 20 £). The average price in Denmark is about £30 to £50 for a BM 1900. But some people think they can sell it for £100 or even £200 (1000 -2000 dkr)! Redicoulous...it is not a rarity in Denmark.

Well - my point is... the seller has any opportunity to check the price-level of whatever he or she is gonna sell. But as a buyer, it's all up to your conscience - and the situation, of course- what you will pay. Maybe - if it's some old people -you feel sorry for them, and tell them if their price is too low -but otherwise, you'll want to buy it for the best price..? Am I right -or am I right

Just picked up 3 sets of CX speakers for an absolute song from a really nice chap in Warrington. He also had a BC8500 which he's getting rid of & offered it to me for 20 quid including BL1000 remote. He had absolutely no idea of its value (even though he bought it new in the late 80's) & was shocked when I suggested it was worth at least 200 plus.

If it had been some miserable git of a seller I would have bitten his hand off but just couldn't bring myself to stiff such a nice bloke. I'm definately getting soft in my old age...........
