Hi all,

Just a quick BUMP/UPDATE on this thread...

I hope to get together with my BIL this evening and nail down what is possible to include setup/costs/time/delivery, etc...

As mentioned, he is building a new facility which could lead to some time issues, but I will know more hopefully tonight.

As we have a new member here, Alastair, looking for similar pieces... does anybody else need anything? I figure once jigged up, it would be nice to make a run of a few pieces...

Also, a crazy question... wood is wood, and I like to leave the design as intended, but any thoughts on other wood species to have some fun?

yes, they are not so easy to rebuild...

He is, as we speak, in construction of a brand new facility. I am definitely handing my cabinets over to him when he is ready to receive them. If you have no luck sourcing the pieces, I am confident he can replicate them. Keep us posted, as I will.

i'm looking for original parts, but the solution of your (bil) sounds also good. we'll stay in contact.

i've got the original and complete cabinet in teak. but i prefer rosewood. i've found the original cabinet on the top in rosewood, but the three parts underneath are missing. the most simplest way is to colorize the teak parts like rosewood... ;-)

I just had a chance to take a closer look.

Previously, I flipped my spare tuners over to look at the trim. Today, I got to the amp, and you are correct!

The BM (tuner) has one solid "U" shaped trim piece as I previously described. The BL (amp) does indeed have three independent pieces! This really surprised me as A.) They look nearly identical with a cursory look and B.) I assumed they would have been identical for manufacturing simplicity. BUT... we are talking about what is arguably B&o's most venerable system here. The trim is markedly different and the craftsmanship is first rate -just beautiful to gaze upon!

i've ask frede by email, but he did not response till now. maybe he is busy...

anyway, i did recapped my beovox 2400 on monday with your capacitor-set. it was fun, take me two hours and was my first soldering work... ;-)

the loudspeakers perform even more detailed now, incredible. i've noticed that on the first hour of playing, the volume was less than before recapping. maybe it was the laphroaig... ;-)
