Hi Steve,

Have been thinking about you remark regarding the use of separate power cords. In this case I need 3 cords to power up the complete Ouverture system when mounted in a wall bracket instead of only one.

The numbers are from the Beocenter 2300/2500 service manual which, as a gold member, you have access to.

I assume that it is not this type of mains cable that is frowned upon by the EU regulation, rather, the non moulded type of connectors that you are considering buying.

I presume that B&O cables are expensive because they DO conform to safety standards.

I may, of course, be talking through my rear end!!!

If this is true that these type of mains are banned by EU regulation than I wonder if my local dealer can supply them.

I presume that 705mm mains cable 6100231 & 510mm mains cable 6100216 are B&O part numbers?

Will check next week by my local dealer. Wonder what these will cost me since B&O is sometimes asking ridiculous prices.

Hope someone on this forum will have these as spare parts and is willing to sell for a fair price.

I believe the regulation problem is with separate connectors - they have to be factory moulded to the cable to be legal.

I have some slimline fluorescent light fixtures that came with this kind of cables to allow daisy chaining them, so somebody (in China ) makes them. Don't think they were long enough for this purpose, though.

If it really needs to be just a single power cord coming out from behind the system, I'd build a small plastic junction box with a screw connector strip inside and snip the wrong end off regular power cords... with all due constructional precautions of course.

I tried to source the male connectors recently and was told by my supplier that they were now "banned" under EU laws, due to the "risk of electric shock from the exposed pins if used incorrectly"

Not yet, thanks, but as a real Dutch citizen I can save money by making this cable myself or buying it cheap(er).

If I can buy loose male connectors somewhere than it would cost me probably about 3 euro's in total since I already have a lot of power cords at home that can be modified.

Anybody who can help me with two AC power cords (approx. 51 & 69 cm used for connecting AC from Ouverture to one Beolab 2500 and the other from Beolab 2500 to the other Beolab speaker.

It has a male-female connector on each end. Can't find it in a local store and loose connectors are hard to find or else I would be able to make it myself. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
