I will resist responding to the gibe , but wonder whether there is something in the air down here that attacks LX5500s. Mine gave up the ghost very recently (tube) and foolishly I gave in to the domestic threats and it went as part of my 'buy one get rid of one' deal with my partner. For some reason she failed to see the logic of keeping a non-working TV on the grounds that it stiilll looked great and that someone would have one I could use a donor unit!

You've proved me right. I'm off to renegotiate the deal.

Unlike the other fine freebe recently posted you are better off assuming the worst.

I too am a Devon bauy but hail from glorious East Devon, east of the Exe, though these vintage broken B&O classics can be collected from near Frome in Somerset or they could be delivered in Bristol or Exeter, within reason. I do not intend driving them around to your home for you to look them up and down only to say nah! The delivery might be at my convenience.

The LX 2500 is preety damn knackerd as I see it havn't powered it up for 5 years but the case aint bad

The LX5500 was giving sterling service a week or so ago and then it took 15 mins for the picture to warm up and now it won't. The sound works great so I assume the speakers are rot free and it has a great case and speaker covers.

The VX5000 I have not used for months, thinking of it I haven't used a VHS for years. I can only assume it has the usual Capstan faults

The missus is having a bit of a do and the landing needs clearing ans I am using the LX5500 as a coffee table, mind you the clear out has been a long time coming.

If no one wants I'll understand CRTs don't fetch much if working and these doin't without effort and money, but if you need spares help yourselves.
