Yes, that's correct. The remote shows 12 channel logos per page, so you have to flick between pages. You might group your channels (for example music channels, news channels, movie channels,...), then you don't have to go through that many pages.

Our setup consists of an Avant and Beosound 3000 in the main room and two link rooms with just speakers, in one of the link rooms the speakers are connected to the computer and Beoport. If I were to buy a Beo 5 I would not really gain anything would I, as far a functionality?

It would just be different than the Beo 4?

If 70-80 TV stations are programmed in, does that then require one to go through10 or more "pages" of TV icons to fiund the right one on the Beo 5?

Hello Tom,

Modifying an existing configuration is always easier but it really depends on the complexity of the BeoLink Setup and costumer wishes.

Some costumers wish to have 80+ TV & Radio stations programmed in, complete with their corresponding icon and for several link rooms.

Everybody who ever tried to acomplish this with the Beo5 tool knows how time consuming it is.

Some dealers sell the Beo5 for a higher price to compensate, others require the costumer to pay a fee for programming.

It would be less expensive to programm it yourself, but the risk of someone messing up his Beo5 and the aftermath is not what B&O, the dealers or the costumer want.

I had my Beo5 reconfigured 3 times from my dealer. For free!

Thats pretty inexpensive.... I charge the configuration depending on the actual system and how in depth and complicated it is. But a basic one should be around 200 dollars.

Thanks for the info. I decided against getting a Beo5. It appears to me that the Beo5 is probably better for a B&O TV which is going to be after I acquire the Beolab 5's

The BeoMedia 1 is the only snag there. While Alex is right, we do sell them without the programming, you'll need the PC or V.AUX command as well as a MENU button, which is not initially present at this point. The setup you described does not actually need a Beo 5, but then again, Bang & Olufsen isn't about needs! I would explain to your local shop the basic nature of the configuration and I'm sure they can do it for a reasonable fee.

Can the Beo5 remote be purchased without paying for the configuring? Is it in a standard Beo4 configuration out of the box? I don't have a TV yet but have BC2, Beomedia 1 and a linked system using Beolink wireless. Thanks,
