That laminated plastic is beginning to curl.</p><p>&nbsp;Uh oh!</p><p>&nbsp;The 8002 has a similar ring, but it&#39;s metal, and I&#39;ve heard that it&#39;s identical and can be used to replace the plastic one on the 8000.</p><p>Does anyone know if that&#39;s true? And if it&#39;s true, does anyone have a trashed 8002 with a good tach ring?</p><p>&nbsp;Ah, me ... the trials and tribulations ...<br /><br />&nbsp;</p><div style="clear:both;"></div>
