The extra button push is very annoying and non-intuitive compared to the control of most other dvd players.

On a related issue, does anyone know if updating the software on a pre-divx version of Beocenter 2 will enable it to play divx? Is it merely a software upgrade or is there a need to replace hardware to enable the divx playback?

Re: Beocenter 2 MKII Question

I found out that in US they are still selling the unit without the speaker until inventory is gone. However to get the acoustic feedback you need the latest software - 5.10a and either a Master unit with a serial number of 20405179 or more or a replacement PCB2 for those T2802 master units with earlier serial numbers.

There is only one sort of Mk 2 master unit world worldwide - it is the socket unit that changes. This must also have S/W 5.10a installed.

Beocenter 2 MKII Question

It seems that the European BC2 MKII version has a little speaker that gives audible feedback when pushing a button. Does the current US version have that too? Also I know in the early model you had to double push buttons to perform functions which I believe in the European MK2 version was reworked. is that sorted for US as well? I believe the dealer were I stopped by today still had the MK1 on display, so it's hard to say.

Cheers

JK
