The paragraph of letters and numbers is the Pronto style descriptor for code storage for a particular button. Have a look here for complete B&O template files for pronto style remotes remotes. There is a fair bit of information, but you should find out what you need.

http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/files/rcfiles.cgi?start=&num=0&kw=bang+olufsen&area=

Although the pronto style format for infrared codes is hexadecimal it is different to the B&O infrared coding system that Keith is describing. The pronto numbers contain information on how to construct the infrared code from scratch, including carrier frequencies, word length etc.

The two digit codes Keith has provided (85 and E7) are the B&O command codes, and do not contain the additional data a pronto remote requires to create the infrared data stream.

Re: HEX codes for Beolink 1000

Thank you Keith. The question raised was what are the HEX code for a particular command and I believe I provided the correct answer to the question.

What you are talking about is the "Protocol" structure which includes the command which is sent to the receiving product from the Beolink 1000. This "Protocol" uses the same principles as most short burst command transmission protocols and takes the form:-

A Preample or Syncing set of codes normally called a header and in this case is 4 bytes long.

Then follows the "Device Address" or B&O product address and takes the form 00 Hex for Video and 01 for Audio and for some reason best known by B&O a light is device address 1B

This is followed by the command which is what I provided in my answer

Generally speaking you do not need to know the "Protocol" or the command codes for that matter because most replacement remotes will learn the codes, well reading them into their memory and saving them.

Re: HEX codes for Beolink 1000

Thank you Keith.
I
just bought a universal remote and I want ot use it to control my
Beosystem 7000. It came with a database of commands but it is missing
two commands that I have on the Beolink 1000; the AV and TV commands.
Does anyone know what the HEX codes for this commands are or point me
to the right direction.

Thanks.
