If I have not used the unit for a lengthy time period and attempt to use the radio, I get music for approximately 1 second and then it goes dead. I get nothing if I retry until waiting another extended period of time before trying again. But, after waiting, I always only get a very, very brief bit of sound.

Re: Beomaster 2400-2 Problem

Any life from the tuner at all? i.e. stereo light / balance lights working any sort of noise?

Forgive my asking, but what is the matching CD player?

I have a lamp and capacitor kit from Martin/Dillen that I never did use if you want to try replacing the lot on your own.

"Several hundred dollars" sounds high. $150 to $250 would not surprise me, though. Benny Amina will charge you a bench fee of $50 in advance to look at it, then call you with a repair cost after diagnosis. He's fixed my Beogram 4002 and Beomaster 4000, and I've purchased a retipped MMC4, all with excellent results.

There are at least three other Beoworlders that I know of in Ohio. If you're near Columbus, you may have local help (at least moral support) available.

How about phono or tape? If not could just be bulbs that are blown as they are an integral part of the circuit no bulb = no selection. Talk to member Dillen for new bulbs you need to be happy with a soldering iron and dismantling though...
