Good and bad;

Bad: The last couple of times, I sat with surrounds from them, they didn't fit.
I was sold no less than three different surrounds that were all guaranteed to fit the same driver
but none of them did. Some were far out (22mm off diameter on a 10 inch).
With CX surrounds, I've had several different that owners brought in with the speakers.
Some were not at all suitable, others were err.. somewhat nearer.
I would say the general fit rate is about 40% in my experience.
I suggest you check all diameters and angles before applying glue.

Good: I never had any problems getting a refund when returning the surrounds (less return postage).

Some people can make them fit, I am not sure if they are better DIY'ers than I or they just have more luck.

Okay, I'll keep that in mind for the future. I bought two sets of foams from good hi-fi so I should be all set then.

If you mean Good-hifi, then no. I have read only positive things on BeoWorld about them.

Since we are on the topic - Simply Speakers, that is one to avoid.

Evan kindly is passing some extra glue along to me. The speakers are on the slow boat from, well, Florida (I'm in NYC) so it will be at least several weeks before I get a chance to attempt this project. The new foams are coming from hifi on eBay so they will arrive shortly after the speakers so. There are several B&O shops in NYC so if all goes badly I can try and buy new drivers (let's hope not though).

I've seen lots of wrong glues and other sticky stuff used on speakers but ... boat sealer ?
Where did you find that advice ? Not on Beoworld, surely ?

Most contact type glues will harden over time, that means it will eventually crack and losen.
Besides, contact glue will grip almost instantly thus not allow for adjusting etc.
Some types will even attack the butyl material of the foam rings.

Any good supplier of speaker parts will be able to supply suitable glue.

Glue for refoaming CX100s

I have been reading quite a bit here for the past few weeks since I decided that I wanted so B&O speakers for my apartment. About 18 months ago I purchased Form 2 headphones and I have been hooked ever since (I don't like anything but a solid natural sound to my sudio).

After browsing eBay for some time I ran across a set of CX100s in need of refoaming, a task that looks simple enough that I can handle. My question is about the glue I need to refoam. Casco Marin & Teknik seems to be the standard however I don't know where I can purchase it in the US. Google brought up few helpful results so maybe someone can make a suggestion?

Thanks in advance and I already have found Beoworld to be very helpful!
