On all (most?) B&O equipment the standby button is the orange/red dot button

Thanks. I hadn't noticed any sticking or clicks. However, I notice that when I push buttons the word 'Battery' appears as well. I wasn't sure if that was normal and I thought I was using relatively, fully-charged batteries(?) If that's not normal, that could be an issue as well, right?

The Master Control Panel holds no settings, it's all in the Beomaster.
You can take out the MCP batteries, leave it for a while and reinsert
to reset the processor inside the MCP but there's no guarantee that it will cure the fault.
To me it sounds more like a matter of cleaning the buttons. It doesn't take much dust or a drop of
something spilled to bind a button and they have a tendency to stick in an almost down position
after being pressed, which occasionally leaves the MCP sensitive to mere touching.
In this case, I would check around the standby button in particular. Is it producing a nice click when pressed and
does it come all the way back up again etc.

Is there a way to reset a MCP to the factory defaults? I bought a Beosystem 5000 that came with a MCP 5000 while contemplating repairing my 6500. The 5000 doesn't work with the Beo 4 so it's good that it has a built-in panel. The MCP 5000 seems to have some settings from the prev owner. For instance, when I hit the Treble key, it turns off the Beomaster. Obviously, that is unintentional. Therefore, I'd like to get it back to the original, default settings. Thanks in advance.
