Not to hijack the thread, but do you have personal experience with reliable B&O repair centers west of the Mississippi? I am in NM and have a Beogram 4002 I'd like gone through. The fewer airplanes and trucks involved, the better.

Does it have an immediate issue, or you just want the once-over? Perhaps tag on another BG specific thread or start a new one... you might get all the info you need on BeoWorld.

Alternatively, there *was* a fellow in TX that had a good reputation...

That really isn't bad advice. But, if you are interested in moving forward with repairs...

1.) Not to be lazy, but there are quite a few threads on this... type in "CD50 laser" in the search box on this site. In general, it seems that the laser is fairly robust and the fault may well be elsewhere -motor? There are plenty of folks on here that have been through the CD50. If you are inclined to repair it yourself, then sit tight and the thread may pick up

2.) If you'd rather just send it off... from your locale, I would recommend either Atlantic Systems in MA or Modular Electronics in GA.

Sometimes it's cheaper to just buy another one. One just sold for $163 on eBay. Then auction yours as a fix-it or parts unit.

I bought the entire system at an estate sale it is mint. all the user"s guides are with it and I see where the cd goes in up side down. When I tried to use it nothing happened. took it to local repair shop because local B&O dealer retired they told me the lazer was junk and B&O no longer has these parts. One of my friends told me that the lazer is made by somebody else not B&O. I am in youngstown ,Ohio. Is this worth fixing? thanks

First thing... the CD is placed upside down in these units... a little odd at first.

Label facing down when you try it?

Where are you located?

need to find someone that can repair this unit. had it checked out they say lazer is bad can anyone help? thanks
