Wondering about failure modes for these. I have two of these that used to work, now they don't seem to work at all. I had them plugged into one of the Powerlink plugs on both my AV7000 to control an amp for the rear channels, and on my Beosound 9000 to turn on the amp that drives the rest of the house speakers.

Neither seem to work, if you turn them to "Timer Off" they work, but won't switch on automatically. I've just resetup my audio system after it being in disarray for a couple of years (yeah, procrastination).

I assume it's the relay that's bonkers. I've seen them on ebay, but believe that it's pointless to buy another as it will probably have the same issues. Anyone know the best way to troubleshoot and repair these? Thanks!

Well done Lee, only recogniseable as mine because of the pin sharp focus! I really must get that ******* camera sorted. It's a Fujifilm S3500 but Brett has lost the manual.

I'll try and download one and see if I can fix the problem. The camera is out of warranty so it's probably knackered!

Nothing wrong with yours! Keith's is from the catalogue. Yours are entirely original!! And available for all to see here! (Lee has tidied it a little!)

The manual is available in the manual section in pdf form!

A few points about these:

1) They work natively only with the BeoCenter 9000 and BeoMaster 5000. Anything newer requires an (inexpensive) adaptor:

2) They provide non-polarized AC switching -- whatever you plug into the back has to have equal-size prongs, not the newer polarized kind. Good luck finding much that will fit there nowadays.

I currently have two of these switches in operation (one of them in a link room.) I have changed the "activation" plug to an 8-pin din plug (power link) -- I hooked the ground wire to pin 2 and the +5v to pin 4 (PowerLink speaker on) and plugged them into an "extra" powerlink socket. (In my case, I am only using a single powerlink for the speakers, then from the first speaker to the second.)

Be sure to test the box first, however. I bought two and one of them had a bad relay. Replaced it and it's fine now. To test, just plug everything in. The outlet should go on and off using the switch in the front.
