Yes it is a standard 270° 8-pin DIN like this.

There are also another types of 8-pin DINs where the 7 outer pins form a different angle than 270°, but they will be harder to find.

I actually want to make my own wall plates.

I found 8 pin DIN sockets online, is the powerlink just a standard 8 pin din? Or a special socket where the pins don't line up with a standard DIN?

Lutron makes some. If I remember correctly they're about $90 each, they fit in a standard metal/plastic socket backbox and they are available in the popular decora style and colors.

FYI though you will only be able to order these through a B&O dealer.

I am not sure if it is what you are looking for, but Panamax makes wall sockets that have connections for Powerlink, Masterlink, and electricity. We purchased our from a B and O dealer and had them installed by the dealer.

Are they some standard type of socket? I'm not looking for cables, but something I can mount on a wall plate.
