Even if you can't find something you like to use the gift card on, it can still be used for a free B&O hat or to register for a Beosound 3 drawing.

I have seen quite a few customers annoyed that they can't use the gift card on small items like last year but the chance to win a Sound 3 usually cheers them up!

I wish B&O would have put the details of the gift card promo on the letter that the card came with, not just on the back of the card in fine print.

Yes, you are right.

The card was accepted towards the purchase of a Beoline 2+ Beocom 5 + speakerphone base, which are expected to be delivered to my home by mid-December.

The card excludes "Holiday Promotions" such as the Beocom 5 package which is the 3 BC 5 handsets , 2 charges an a base and Beoline 2, but I think a "single" Becom 5 purchase which is not a package discount would be considered a pre-order and not a back order, if you purchase before the actual release date of a product.

Most everything purchased at the B&O store that is high dollar is ordered and therefore could be considered a backorder, simply because they don't have it in the store at the time of purchase. I'm sure someone ordering a new BV-4 or BV-7 would be allowed to use the $100 gift card, since dealers typically don't have plasmas or BV 7's stacked up in the backroom.

My card shows an expiration date of 1/31/2010. Don't give up dealers want to make sales....Give it a try!

First I was annoyed because I couldn't use the card to purchase a BeoTime. Fine, whatever, I'll use it for a Beocom 5. Then I read it must be used by Dec 31st and the Beocom 5 won't arrive till January. And the card cannot be used towards backordered products.

What gives?

I believe this promotion is forced upon the dealers so play nice and don't go out there just to get a pair of headphones as that just ends up eating into their costs. That being said I believe that the promotion ultimately ended up being a success last year for the dealers.

Depends on how you define 'success' Michael.

Yeah. Apparently I was mistaken on that little fact. But hey at least this year you won't have people scoffing at having to pay 8 bucks tax for their free form 2s.

I had to laugh when my dealer told me that story.

I called 2 dealers in NYC. One said what you said; the other said yes, you could use it toward accessories.

Hmm turns out my B&O dealer says that "yes" it can be used but only for items over $400... which I dont see where it says it must have a value of over $400...

I can't believe I am missing out on these this year, my dealer is really frustrating me.
