You cannot cancel timer functions programmed with a MCP5500 with any other compatibale remote controller. This is the case with any of the compatible remotes (Beolink5000, MCP6500, MCP5500 or Beolink7000) - you have to use the same type of remote controller which programmmed them to cancel these functions.

I purchased a Beomaster 7000 several years ago, without a beolink. I just purchased off E Bay, a Beolink 5500. Understanding it's

not an exact match, it seems to be communicating with the Beomaster, but without a manual I'm having a little trouble utilizing all the

functions. Will this work? Or are there compatibility problems? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

Firstly, there is no such product as Beolink 5500. Do you mean an MCP5500 (Master Control Panel)? It should work just fine with your 7000 as well as all compatible audio products connected to the Beomaster. If you get stuff like the radio frequency back on the MCP display both should be working fine. The only trouble would be adjusting/removing timers programmed with another remote. And obviously you can't see the RDS information from the radio, that will only show on a Beolink 7000. If only the sound setting ring isn't responding, it is a relatively common fault in the MCP.

I have trouble utilizing all the functions even with the manual! The manuals are on site for silver & gold members so it's not kosher to just ask for a complete copy here, but I'm sure we will be happy to help with specific problems.

Is Beolink 5500 compatible with Beomaster 7000?
