I know I hooked it up to an analog CRT once just to play around when I first got mine, but I also know it was tricky to get a image. It needs to be set up with a special code for the display it's going to be driving. Yours could be set up for a projector or something that the Digital LCD circuit in your kids TV doesn't like. It may be worth contacting a friendly dealer or installer to guide you through the setup once you get the screen you want. It's a great unit but experimenting with it requires a bit of technical knowledge. Check out the BS1 service guide PDF on this site to give you an idea of what is in the service menus of the unit, but tread VERY lightly if you dare go into the service menu or you may end up with a 50 pound door stop.

Re: What's tv good match with Beosystem 1 (whitout b&o)

now I understand what you saying

I bought one for the living room a few years ago, just before they left the US market. Picture is excellent on HD, kind of blurry on SD (not as good as the old Panasonic tube). Sound quality surprisingly is very poor - boomy muddy bass, tinny highs (BV8-32 is much better). However the motorized floor stand gives it a B&O flavor .
