Well I guess we all can't be techies (neither am I, for that matter) or maybe he just wants to support the local economy

I did sell a cd50 on ebay to europe and I did change the (American) plug here to a european and set the transfo setting to 220V to avoid any problems.
There are also cheapo plug in adapters that will change US to European plugs that cost about 1$ or so, look under travel adaptors.

The biggest cost a step down transformer (not step-up) as you're going from 220 to 110V which should be about $30 to $50. A beomaster needs a good stable one with plenty of power , so a real cheapo transfo is out of the question as it WILL kill the electronics (been there myself...).

I think it's more than fair of you to offer a refund for the plug (that costs 1$).........

I did post an answer on the listing that it would need a step up transformer....... It's all very amicable between the buyer and myself at the moment - he just replied to my apology and offer to refund him the cost of the plug -

"Ok. I'm going to take the machine to a repair shop tomorrow. Will let you know about the cost of plug. Thanks again."

I have just sold on ebay & sent a Beomaster over to a chap in New York and before I sent it I removed the UK type mains electricity plug. He sent me the following

"I just received the Beomaster 3300. Thanks so much for the expedited shipping. This question may sound a bit silly, but the plug in wires are exposed. Where do I go from here?"

I've apologised as I should have made clear I would remove the UK plug if I was to send it overseas, however, are mains plugs not available in the US?

Off course they are available in the US.

I just hope the beomaster accept 110V though.
