Does anyone want a free Beocord 8004? The heads engage when play is pressed, but immediately retract, which apparently means the belt(s) are bad. Cosmetics are very good/excellent. Going into the trash on Wednesday so pls respond quickly. Must be willing to pay shipping from NYC of course.

You can adjust the motor speed using a tiny flat-bladed screwdriver inserted through the hole (and through the rubber cover) on the top of the motor.

Beocord 8004 PLAY is a bit fast

My Beocord 8004 “appears” to be playing slightly fast, has anyone ever seen this happen? I have tried several cassette tapes and all play the same.

I had a problem with my Beocord 9000 where the belt slipped out of position and the tape played at double speed, sounded like like “Alvin and the Chipmunks.” This is nothing like that.

The speed is off just a little. All other functions are normal: the electronics, “GO”, fast forward, fast reverse…. Everything works properly; just play is just a bit too fast.

Any ideas?
