I was scanning through some posts here on the forum and i dont know if you have found a solution for your problem yet. Anyway... your problem will be solved if you buy a better quality dvi cable. Early version of dvi cables was not good for longer distances in higher resolutions. Your cable will work fine if you lower your resolution.... newer cables is often capable of hangling higher resolutions.

Hej DVI kabel er kun godkendt til 5meter max. hvis man skal bruge længer cabler skal man converter til HDMI som kan virke på op til 20 meter. ellers skal du bruge et alm VGA kabel med en DVI converter bag på TV'et.

problemet ved og bruge længer DVI kable end 5 meter er præcis det du oplever...

Can't help you out. My DVI cable is 5 meters in length.

But double check if it's a DVI fully wired cable.

At first I thougt my Mac Mini or the BV7 should be faulty.

But in the end (after 2 years) i figured out that I needed a specific type of DVI cable.

Now it works perfectly.

I'm catching up on the series LOST and HEROES on www.MySeries.nl

Through DIVX fullscreen on my BV7.

You should try it and learn some dutch (subtitles) along the way.

Thanks for reading my message in Danish, not an easy task :-)

However, I have troubleshooted a bit today. The situation is now:

When my 10 metres DVI-cable is connected from my Media Center PC (from now on MCE) to the BV7 I have a lot of flicker, especially in the dark areas of images/films) (green/red/blue pixel noise)

The problem was only 10% with the old BV6 compared to BV7.

My first thought was therefore a faulty DVI cable. I connected my laptop instead of the MCE via the same DVI cable, and the same error occurs. (The MCE works fine)

Then I connected the laptop with a shorter DVI-cable to the BV7, and BINGO no propblemo what so ever.

Hmm, then I was almost working on ordering a new 10 metres DVI cable, but just for fun I took the old 10 metres cable to my office, and connected to my desktop PC to my HP monitor there, and it works absolutely fine :??????

I don't get it, then I took the old DVI-cable again back to the livingroom and connected the MCE to BV7 and the same noise occurs.

Is the problem here the BV7? --- if, how comes a shorter cable works fine?

Can't read a word of what you are writing, but I guess you have some trouble connecting a PC to the BV7.

From my experience I can advise you to use the correct DVI cable, and it should be DVI on both ends.

If the PC has a monitor connector you will loose some information that can have a negative effect on the image projected on the BV7.

The cable that works for me is fully wired.

PS: On the right side of the screen there will be 6 dots black from top to bottom. This is due to the screen size resolution.

Har skiftet BeoVision 6 ud med et BeoVision 7-40, men jeg har følgende problem.

Når jeg vælger PC på BV fungerer mit MediaCenter (Win XP) upåklageligt, men hvis jeg lukker Media Center og navigerer rundt i selve Windows (især i ikke-maksimerede vinduer) blinker skærmen tilfældigt og tit. Dvs. den bliver sort i et ½ sekund, og kommer så tilbage. Desuden rykker den selv billedet et par pixels mod højre og venstre, altså som om BV'en hele tiden autokalibrerer.

Skærmopløsningen er sat til 1360 x 768 (selvom BV'ens tekniske spec. siger 1366 x 768) men den kan jeg ikke vælge.

Mit grafikkort er et GeForce 6200, og jeg har de nyeste nVidia-drivers.

Hvad kan der være i vejen?
