We actually took a company up to Kittilla from The Netherlands - maybe you were on it!

Sadly not. I first travelled to Finland in August 2010 when I was invited by a fellow Beoworld member Bayerische and met Tournedos there as well. I made a few more friends along the way, so hope to go back there soon. Never made it as far north as Kittilla, though.

To facilitate fire rescue and removal of snow from the rooftops. Pretty much every building in Finland has fixed ladders, I suppose it is in the building regulations.

Just wondered why there seemed to be ladders up at all the houses and onto the roofs? I was thinking deep snow but surely not!

With a different choice of accomodation you would of got plenty of B&O. Keep in mind when you are going to Levi next time.

Currently in the hotel in Kitilla, sp far so good. Own room sauna, 20cm of snow outside. Love the place (no B&O though!)

Thanks very much. I kept looking at the forecast. Taking a bunch of people up there with work so only staying the weekend sadly!

There doesn't seem to be that many Finnish members in general, and Kittilä is a sparsely populated place (even by local standards) so not too likely! I suppose you're going to stay at Levi, which is a popular winter holiday resort though, so you're not going to be alone there.

The area holds our frost record: -51.5°C in 1999 - but it's not going to be that extreme as the autumn has been exceptionally warm. There should be a bit of snow already though and the forecast says more over the weekend. Have a nice trip
