Hi Jan,

I have put a RCA cable between the TV and DVD recorder and it works. I think that indeed the problem is the 5V signal. The signal of the DVD recorder was PAL so that was good.

@ damatt. De stekkers van de scart kabel hebben alle pinnetjes dus ik ga ervan uit dat ik een volledige kabel heb.

Ik heb een Beovision LX 5500 TV en een philips DVD recorder aangesloten via de scart. Normaal films kijken met de DVD recorder werkt goed met de scartingang 2 als videotape aangesloten. Maar zodra ik de DVD stop en na de timer of menu van de DVD ga wordt het beeld zwart. Heeft iemend een idee hoe dit komt en hoe dit op te lossen is?

Hi Peter

as you did not answer my last post I can suggest several possibilities

try to use your tv/monitor button on your dvd remote if it do not work

its possible that your dvd are configured to ntsc or auto and not able to

send the right signal when your dvd is in stop mode,another possibility

is that when you are in stop mode,the dvd do not send 5V to your tv

but when in play mode it does,try to use a rca video/sound cable its a 3

core with a red white and yellow plug in both ends and connect them to

your video/sound rca connections on the back of your dvd,you also have

to get a scart adapter with rca connections you can buy them by a dealer

to connect to your scart av2 on your tv if you are able to see your menu

from your dvd enter the menu and change the output format to either rgb or composite and set it to pal

When you enter menu and tuner setup is the picture there but no colour

or is it all black

Philips DVDR 3380 and we are using indeed Pal G.

Please tell me the Model number of your phillips dvd recorder and what kind

of television standard you are using its in the nederlands i presume you are

using pal g correct me if i am wrong.

Hi,

I have a Beovision LX 5500 and a Philips DVD recorder. To play a DVD works fine but when I use the tuner function or menu of the DVD recorder the screen turns black. The DVD recorder is connected via scart 2 input.
