Yup, you got me there. I've changed my signature, just to make a joke. Unfortunately my profile hasn't changed yet, even though it should've (10 mins or so).

BTW; I'm pretty sure it's going to be the BL3's this week, and probably the black version. I've seen the blue ones, and they sure look good, but it might be some issues with the glossy finish. Swirlmarks tend to appear after some time.

Frankly, I agree about the BL3's sounding better (distinctive and tight) than the 4000's, allthough the bass was a bit "fuller".

I would also choose BL3s. I never fail to be impressed whenever I hear them...

Both are good speakers in my opinion. The Beolab 4000's are very good value and sound a bit smoother than the Beolab 3's. But the Beolab 3's have a more detailed sound and of course the benefit of a smaller size and the acoustic lens. My personal preference would be the Beolab 3.

Hello,

I have the BL4000. Those ones are great in my A/V 5.1 setup.

Meantime I would go for the BL3 as they have the AC Lens technology inside, which allow a sound dispersion at 180°.
Furthermore, they are smaller compare to the BL4000 and would be great on your desk.

Maybe, I will go one day for a grey anodised set of BL3's, we never know

I auditioned the BeoLab3's a couple a of days ago, and was pretty stunned. Also I got to listen to the 4000's. They seemed a bit more "chunky" in the bass-area. Loudness was ofcourse turned off on both set-ups. The BeoLab 4's, as I mentioned before in another post, was pure and utterly crap in my opinion.

What's your opinion on these two (3's and 4000's)? The 3's are a bit pricier, and the 4000's are a bit big. I'll be placing them on my desk, so there's space enough, but the 3's will definetly look better, and will be easier to move around..
