I can check this out for you, if you are not in a hurry - I honestly can't say when I'll have time to visit the dealer (I'll be abroad for most of August and have a zillion things to do before that). In any case, if these really turn out to be out of stock, you're welcome to have my old hinges, if they help. They are still in one piece, but the plastic gears are missing teeth, so they don't turn very smoothly, or stay "in sync".

I went to my local B&O dealer who said he was barred from selling parts. I nagged him saying it was only a fitment and not electrical and he checked and it said it was 'expired product'. Another dealer said the same. Anyone know where I can get part no 3030071 - one hinge for a MCP6500 hinge? Perhaps someone who bought two but only used one?

I used to have a BM 6500 and a MX 7000 (2 way) connected, i never used anything else than my BeoLink 5000 remote.

E.g. you can't program the light on/off with the MCP6500. That is available with the BeoLink 5000, and I guess with the 7000 but never had one.

I also often used the BL 5000 to program the VX7000 from link rooms, so it has a lot of capabilities.

I bought a pair of these for my MCP 6500 last February, and the price at a local dealer here in Finland was all of six (6) euros.

The only hard part is removing the old hinge from the lid without scratching anything (the end in the MCP proper is just sandwiched between the case parts), easier to attempt once you see the new hinges. Part number for the hinges is 3030071, and the quantity is for just one hinge so make sure you order two.

I didn't ask how much 'cos I needed them to complete a £1000 system!

The moulded spigot that the hinge fits over is smaller on the MCP5500

Thanks Joeyboygolf - I had assumed they were no longer available. I will go into the local dealer soon. What did you have to pay?

I am surprised they are different to the MCP5500 because mine look the same!

The hinges for the MCP6500 are still available as spares. I bought some 3 months ago so your dealer should be able to order some if he can be bothered!

Note that they are not the same as MCP5500 which are no longer available.

My daughter did the same with one of my MCP5500s. The parts are no longer available - might be worth asking Tim Jarman - contact him via Beocentral. I know he fixed one of his recently but he may have used a donor model.

I have just dropped my 6500 Master Control Panel. Very robust! Gave me a dinge in the parquet floor but unfortunately broke the hinges on the flap:( Does anyone have any spares or know where I can source them. Everything works OK which says something for the design!
