It's been said many times before but keep your eye on the glass panels they may be about to fall out , if they have been used flat people don't always notice the adhesive tape is breaking down .

If it all works and has good cosmetics, I'd say that's a steal. I recently paid $1800 for a complete near mint 4500, partially working Beolink 7000, and 3 brackets. Most of the units had been expertly repaired, so I knew they had some life on them. Not only does the 4500 match the best of current units in design, but it has many features I find more attractive than current B&O offerings. I felt I was getting many more features for less money than a current B&O system. The most important were passive speaker output for older speakers, turntable, and separate turntable support, and an aux jack. This lets you set up a complete system including turntable, and have spare jacks for an MP3 player. I also love the 2 way functionality of the Beolink 7000, which no current B&O system has either.

The turntable alone is worth nearly that if in good condition (& depending on the cartridge model).

Market values fluctuate enormously but generally speaking it will be worth much more if the condition is excellent. Poor cosmetic condition will affect the price by huge amounts as these are often the most expensive faults to put right & B&O customers set great store by this.

Very difficult to set a price on used equipment as it can be affected by lots of things such as condition, availablity at any given time and how well and where you advertise it.

If it is dollars and in excellent condition then I think it's a good price. Depending on the speakers it could be a great price, for example if the speakers are bl3500/4500.

I have the opportunity to buy a complete b&o 4500 system for 850. Is that a good deal? what do they typically sell for?

it has 2 speakers, cassette,cd receiver, and turntable, all excellent condition.
