One other question, how to change from FM to AM (mediaum wave radio).

i have found this out now, it does indeed do all functions except programming the radio stations/frequencys.
Is there any way to tune the radio stations without a MCP.?

Yes there is a way of tunning radio stations but its tricky. There is "Tune" option in the list which is designed to tune TVs. But you have to full the system to use it. The "Tune" option is obtained through the "V-Setup" option that you must add to the list.

Press Radio.

Now obstruct the beo4 infrared emmiter while pressing "AV TV" on the beo4. You need to obstruct the infrared so that the the Bs6500 will remain on radio mode. You can also achieve this by going to another room and out of range of the bs6500 to press "AV TV" and comming back to range of the BS6500. The reason of this is just to get the v-setup option on the Beo4 while the Bs6500 is on radio mode.
Select "v-setup" and press "Tune" to tune radio stations. After tunning you can store with "Store" option of the Beo4.

It sound tricky but once you have done that once it becomes easy.

Yes, it will. As far as 'self seek', I'm not sure if this can be done. I can't receive any radio where I live so I don't actually understand how the Beomaster 6500's radio works as well as others.

To tune in a radio station with BL1000 you must press [GOTO] [X] [X] [X] [X] [STORE] [Y ] [STORE], where xxx.x is the station frequency, and y is the is the station under which you want to store the frequency.

The 'º2' display means the Beomaster 6500 will react to ANY B&O commands it receives, not just a select few (namely those which relate directly to sound, such as CD or RADIO instead of TV and DVD)

I'd recommend you look for a BeoLink 1000 - the newer the better. The Beo4 is designed to work with B&O's latest products, and while their older kit is not 'incompatible' with the Beo4, you do have to work around things to get it to work all the time. A BeoLink 1000 however, is from the same era as your BeoMaster 6500 and will work much more smoothly (and it's a great remote too, I use one with my 6500).

Alex, went into "options" then GO then got to "A.opt" pressed go and then "2", beomaster did indeed display " *2 " which disappeared after a second or so, now what should i try and press to search for radio frequencies?

Un-plug the BeoSound 9000 or make sure that whatever happens, ONLY the BeoMaster 6500 is in range of the Beo4 remote (or else you are in danger of messing up settings on your BeoSound 9000 etc...).

Push Standby + List at the same time on the Beo4.

Using the up + down arrows, cycle until you reach A.Opt.

Press Go.

Press 2 (assuming the amplifier isn't set up in any special configuration etc...).

The light on the amplifier should flash and the screen should display similar to º2.

The amplifier *should* now respond to remote control signals (assuming my theory is correct - that it was in the wrong 'Option Format'.

Beo 4 should work fine with it without doing anything to the settings.

If you use a Beosound 9000, my guess is that you will have
to set the Beo4 to work with the Beomaster 6500.
(Beo4 has settings for Beosound 9000 and other audio-systems )

Hmmm, i will need to get back to you later on as my beosound 9000 is too close to the beomaster just now and it is being turned on with the beo4 !!! I will move the 6500 to another room and then try it.
