The 3.x versions output only 1080i from the electronics and the screen has to deinterlace the signal to 1080p. AOTBE, 4.x should provide a smoother and cleaner picture quality.

That having been said, there have been reports that, at least in some cases, upgrading to 4.12 causes a complete loss of picture and necessitates a rollback to 4.02 to regain video display. I reported this problem in the Deutsche Beoworld forum a few days ago. As of yesterday, B&O had not identified the source of the problem.

As regards 1080p 24f/s I can't say. However, I do know that my 65" Panny 9UK doesn't support 24f/s with DVI digital input; oddly enough, it will support 24f/s with analogue component input. Given that BV4 is based on the Panny, it may well also not support 24f/s. So 24 f/s from a BS3 may not be relevant. I have no idea whether the BV7 display supports 1080p 24 f/s. Anyone?

Re: Where to find the firmware on a Beosystem 3?

Variety of bug fixes - Version 3 fixed problems with the picture in link rooms and audio problems when Speaker 5 was selected when listening to an audio source. 3.1 fixed a problem with Teletext. Version 4.0 is the big one and fixes all sorts of silly little faults and helps prevent crashes. Also offers support for the Beolab 10! 4.12 adds the sharpness control for customers.

Re: Where to find the firmware on a Beosystem 3?

Ok, but now we still don't know what the differences are

Re: Where to find the firmware on a Beosystem 3?

Hi, there is a lot of differencies between sw 3.1 and 4.12.
