I see no reason why the AUX connection should not be used as input and output simultaneously, e.g. by connecting the input pins to your mac-mini and connecting the output pins to some other system. Not sure if the AUX output is driven while you play the source connected to the AUX input (i.e. your mac-mini) but it should be when listening to CD or RADIO. However my Ouverture does so!

Ok all, feeling a little stupid here..............................

I've just bought a Beosound 4 on ebay, as I thought I would need it for my new system - see this link http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/thread/69267.aspx

I was just searching for info on type 1611 convertors and found this thread,which got me thinking. I thought I'd need a newer system as my 2300 only has one aux outlet which I'm told can be in OR out. As I need aux for the mac-mini, I thought I'd need the new "system". This thread leads me to think that I could have used one of the powerlink outputs for an 8 core type 2 powerlink connection to the 1611 convertor which would then link to a 3500 via masterlink. (or to two 3500's via some other splitter type gadget?????)

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? haven't got the Beosound 4 to play with yet as I've only just paid for it and I'm a long way away from most of you!

Quite correct. You will need a MK2 fully wired powerlink cable between the 2300 and the converter.

Connect the 2300 and 3500 to the mains before you connect converter to mains and the 1611 will self configure.

From memory, 2300 in option 0 and 3500 option 4 should get you working.

I think you have to add a full (8-cord) Powerlink cable between the 2300 and converter.

Is the converter type 1611?

Dear friends

I have a beo centre 2300 and have just aquired a beolab 3500, which i would like to have in a second

room. I have been told that this is possible, I have cabled this up from the beo centre to a beo link

converter from the aux socket on the 2300 to the aux socket on the converter and a master link

cable to the beolab 3500. Using my beo4 controler, but all i can get on my beolab 3500 is a display

saying cd. Could anybody help me i don,t have a manual for the 3500 or the beo4 controler.

I am pulling my hair out.
