I have the North American version of this and, as near as I can tell, the "TIMER" indicator on the front is just to let you toggle between having the outlet controlled by the BeoCenter and having it powered all the time.&lt;P&gt;As others have noted, you can use this with modern, PowerLink equipment by use of a simple breakout cable that B&amp;O has.&lt;P&gt; However -- and I'm not sure if this is important in GB -- the outlet on the back is non-polarized, at least on the 110v version.
