It sounds like you pressed the record button and that's it.......can't change it to any other channel/function?

On my Avant dvd linked to a v8000 the same happens when i press record twice on my beo 4.

To get out of this mode i select v mem (v tape) depending on your beo4 then the stop button on the remote and it stops!

Thanks for replying Keith.

I think it's record lock with VCR. The word "Record" appears on the red LED display on the Avant and I can't do anything such as change source (VCR, TV, STB, VAux, Channel up/dn).

I decided to unplug the TV and that cleared the issue, but I know there's a better way.

When you are talking about "put AVANT into Record Lock" are you talking about Record Lock for VCR or Record Lock which with some STB's appear in the Menu on the left hand side of the screen when you press Menu on the Beo4 ?
