Just a thought, but I wonder if there is a build up of dust around the remote sensor in the MX1500.

I tried polishing the transparent plastic in front of the sensor, but you might be right about something getting in behind. Is it easy to get the cover off to have a look?

Just had a weird experience with my MX1500 and Beolink 1000 remote. The Beolink stopped working unless held really close to the TV, so I assumed the batteries were flat. Replaced with a new set of batteries, but the same problem persists. There is a very small chance that the 'new' batteries are not so new, but I'm pretty sure they're fresh. Tried the Beolink with my Avant and had no probs, and similarly the Beo 4 didn't seem to want to work the MX1500 unless held really close. This leads me to assume that the remote sensor in the MX1500 might be knackered....

Any Beoworlders got any experience of this or thoughts?
