is a audio kit 1610 the same as a 1611 beolink converter ? whats the difference? will the beolink converter 1611 work linking beosystem 4500 to the av 9000 television?

can anyone help me locate a AV 90000 television in good condition, preferably a late one with a beo4 remote. i'v seen several on ebay but most are poor.

Hi Phil,

My understanding is that the AV9k had a specific kit enabling ml to older equipment which is what you may need, its what I used when connecting the same.

In work at the moment so will post some more later but sure someone will be along shortly who knows everything you need to know.

i used similar setup,
and the 1610 (AV9000 Audio Kit) was required.

If i remember correctly,
it has something to do with the type of Masterlink on AV9000.

I'm sure other members can tell you more about this.

AV 9000 Television, help needed!

hi, i wonder if someone could help me with my installation. i have a complete beosystem 4500 with beolab 5000 and beolab 3000 wall speakers. also connected is a beolab 2 bass speaker. i intend to connect a av9000 television to my audio setup. i understand you require a beolink converter which gains you the masterlink socket thats required. i've installed a beolink converter (type 1611) which is connected to the beomaser 4500 via the tv/aux socket, the masterlink output then runs from the converter to the television. on reading the spec. for the av9000 , it says you require a (av 9000 audio kit type 1610) what is this kit exactly? will my 1611 converter do the same job? it says you need this kit when connecting an audio system without masterlink to a masterlink television. what i'm aiming to achieve is a (beosystem av9000 useing audio system 4500.) i aim to get dolby surround sound from the av9000 monitor and the wall mounted lab 5000 (front) and lab 3000 (rear) +lab 2 sub ! bass.

i've tried talking to bang&olufsen customer services, but i'v not had much joy as yet ! i'v had my 4500 system wired and set up in my living room since 1998 now, all the cables are behind the plaster out of sight, when i wired the system back then i installed the power link + master link cables to where i intend the av9000 monitor to be. i'm still unsure of sertain aspects of the link from the 4500 audio system to the av9000 television. i'm hopeing you could clarify for me. i'm also looking out for a very good condition av9000 television, i,v seen several on ebay, but most are poor. could someone help me find a good one ?
