You had previously stated that the BEOIPCML.EXE had an access violation which is going to be linked to the USB driver for the Beoport, so I propose the following set of instructions to hopefully resolve the problem:-&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;Start by removing the Beoport/PC2 driver by pressing &lt;font color="#0000ff"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;START&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/font&gt; then &lt;font color="#0000ff"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;CONTROL PANEL&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/font&gt;, then double left click on &lt;strong&gt;&lt;font color="#0000ff"&gt;SYSTEM&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; then click the &lt;strong&gt;&lt;font color="#0000ff"&gt;HARDWARE&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; tab at the top of the opened screen. Now press &lt;font color="#0000ff"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;DEVICE MANAGER&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/font&gt;. This is the list of your hardware. Click on the plus sign &amp;quot;+&amp;quot; to the left of &amp;quot;Universal Serial Bus Controllers&amp;quot; and look down the list for Beolink PC2, highlight it and right click on it. Now left click on &lt;strong&gt;&lt;font color="#0000ff"&gt;UNINSTALL&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;. If subsequently the wizard comes up saying &amp;quot;Found New Hardware&amp;quot; press cancel.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Now go to the Control Panel again and double click on &amp;quot;Add or remove programs&amp;quot; and remove Beoport.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;When it has been removed, unplug the USB cable from the Beoport&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Now REBOOT your PC twice.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Stop all un-necessary programmes including anti-virus and spyware detectors and SkyPE if you have it installed.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Download the Beoport software again and install it plugging in the USB port when you are asked to do so. The problem here is that B&amp;amp;O are supplying software but many of the installers are not computer experts. When I had a PC, I found most B&amp;amp;O software a bit temperamental and certainly quite fussy about its environment. I would be quite tempted to wipe everything and re-install. I would download the software from the B&amp;amp;O website - if you are a member (It is free) the link to the page is &lt;a href="http://www.bang-olufsen.com/page.asp?id=142" target="_blank"&gt;here&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Is the desk top of a similar spec to your laptop? Are you using Vista? If so, that is the problem. B&amp;amp;O software is still not able to work with Vista, only XP or 2000. So, your desktop is now connected to the PC2/Beoport box, correct ?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I am assuming from your statement that you have just purchased the PC2/Beoport or have you had it for sometime ?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The fact that you get an access violation in BEOIPCML.EXE tends to show some kind of problem when it first sent out signals onto the Masterlink.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;What version of Beoport software did the dealer install ? The lap top got a virus and I lost everything; the B+O shop re-installed the software on my desk top. I found that whilst the software worked, it scanned my hard disk every time and I lost all the playlists I had spent hours compiling every time I opened it - very frustrating. The B+O shop were mystified &amp;amp; sent a salesman each time who openly admitted he was not a computer specialist - he didn&amp;#39;t seem that familiar with the settings and couldn&amp;#39;t find any reason it lost the playlists.They installed upgaded software and that now doesn&amp;#39;t work at all - it plays for 10 seconds and crashes. When I click on the B+O icon a dialogue box appears that says &amp;#39;ACCESS violation at address 00402ED6 in module BEOIPCML.EXE.&amp;#39;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The shop that supplied everything is telling me that it is a fault in MY computer, that there is a conflict and they will recommend a computer specialist who will charge me &amp;pound;50 an hour to sort it out - very poor service. My feeling is that the fault is in the exe file and that is not my problem. I have a piece of expensive software that for whatever reason doesn&amp;#39;t work and B+O should ensure it does.
