The only way to achieve what you want with a BeoVision 8 is to interrupt the feeds from the devices with some sort of switcher that would get flipped when you wanted the picture up on the wall. This would mean that you lost PUC control through the BV8 and would have to use the native remotes. Otherwise, an AV switcher is probably the cheapest way to go about it.

I wouldn't hold out hope for the BeoVision 7-32 being very cheap. Considering the only difference in the US variant would be the monitor size and a slightly less complex stand, I would put its cost at around 10k at best. If that's in your price range, I'd save up another few and go BV 7-40!

Re: Is it possible to integrate a projector into a setup with a BV8?

See here in the US they do not offer the full TV range and on pricing I have a cap as well. I do not need the whole home cinema shebang, its just nice to throw a picture on the wall when friends come by. I don't want to give that up.

What I like about the BV8 is, its not too high, if I put it onto a small drawer element I could use the wall behind still as a screen (obviously I don't care much about picture quality).

I will walk by my local dealer next weekend and ask what the Scart can do. I believe it carries in and out, so with the right cable i should be able to get a component signal which for occasional viewing on the wall should do. If not, I wait for BV7 32" to hit our shores.

Cheers

Jk

Re: Is it possible to integrate a projector into a setup with a BV8?

If you ran a projector, it would have nothing to do with the BeoVision 8. I don't know what your history with B&O is, but consider it more like the MX than an Avant. Bang & Olufsen tvs seem to fall neatly into either televisions or home cinema systems, the latter being able to control a second monitor (like a projector), drop a screen, dim lights, and do all other sorts of magic tricks.

The BeoVision 8 is just a TV. An absolutely fantastic one I must say, but not a Cinema Master. To do this the proper way you will need a BeoVision 7, 9, or just a BeoSystem 3 with a BeoVision 4. Any of these will drive a projector and take control of the Apple TV and other sources.

If the other TVs are outside of your price range for now, don't shy away from the BeoVision 8. It, like all other Bang & Olufsen TVs, will at some point get bricks thrown at it on these forums because it doesn't make unicorns appear and cost the same as a Sony, but it's a gorgeous TV with the best picture available on a 32" screen, great speakers, and can still control your Apple TV and STB. You can even connect the BeoCenter 2 with Scart for full integration there as well.

Good luck!

Re: Is it possible to integrate a projector into a setup with a BV8?

Anyone?

Lee

Is it possible to integrate a projector into a setup with a BV8?

Looking at non marketing pictures of it (Mr Andersons gallery on B&O.com - thanks) I am warming up to it.

Big question is, how can I connect a projector? I would want to use Mini Mac and a BC2 with it.

Any ideas? Also are there any issues connection the Mini Mac? Somebody posted that the STB can now fully control Apple TV including fast scroll so that should work with Front Row as well.

Thanks

JK
